When statistics tell us that more than 90% of companies disappear before their first five years of life and when we compete in increasingly competitive and globalized international markets, reaching the mythical age of 25th anniversary fills the Tucab team with pride and defines our company's resilient DNA.
The longevity of companies does not happen by chance or luck, we got here because despite the countless setbacks along the way, we did not deviate from the defined strategy, but essentially because we have always had teams that wore “the Tucab shirt”. Without a doubt, Tucab's employees are its most important asset, even more important than the brands and products themselves. They are active people who like to do things, who give ideas, who never say it's a lot of work and much less say it's not enough. Only a team with this character, with this competence in unity of effort and objectives, can achieve this longevity with the status of market leader in some products and manufacturing others that are unique and innovative in Portugal. I want to thank each and every one of you for the effort and dedication you put into your work every day. You are proof that success is achieved through talent, determination and hard work. Congratulations to everyone for the excellent work carried out and for the spirit of unity and sacrifice that exists at Tucab. Thank you all.
Did we do everything well along this long journey? Of course not, and we have no doubt that we must highlight on this journey the many mistakes made, because without them we would not have been able to manufacture tubes and technical and unique profiles in Portugal, just as we would never have been able to be suppliers in the medical-hospital, automotive and 3D printing areas. It is established at Tucab that error is part of the solution,but the most important thing is to be aware of it, know how to get up after a fall and stay focused on the fact that a mistake can be one of the best ways to solve our problem.
Without making mistakes, we have also done things that we are proud of, for example: we are the extrusion company with the most certifications in the Peninsula In Iberia, we have the only clean room in Portugal and Spain suitable for the production of tubes for medical devices (class 7 certified), we are leaders in Portugal in the manufacture of filament for 3D printing, polyamide corrugated tubes, TPU tubes for the medical-hospital and pneumatic areas, etc.
Even though internally we have strived to acquire the skills and equipment necessary to produce unique, competitive and quality products, all the achievements already mentioned would not have been possible without the preference and loyalty of our customers, who helped us grow, who trusted us, who continue to support us, value us and challenge us every day for new projects. Without them we wouldn't have gotten here. Thank you all for being part of our family and for being decisive in this longevity.
A special word also for our stakeholders, who have accompanied us on this path, which is not always easy, full of challenges, with unexpected moments and unwanted situations. The technical excellence that Tucab acquired was only possible to achieve because we had suppliers and collaborators from some suppliers, who believed in us, who embraced our projects as their own, who believe that the Portuguese are as capable as the others. This Tucab/Suppliers innovation partnership allowed some products that Portugal imported to be exported by Tucab, thus contributing to the balance of trade, reducing the ecological footprint and creating jobs in Portugal. Thank you all, we will never forget the support given.
Although in 2020/2021 we are experiencing a pandemic that has affected the entire society and companies, transporting us to a very difficult and troubled period, it is with hope and serenity that we will face the challenges that lie ahead. If the past was one of learning, investments and innovation, the future we see is one of affirmation and very strong growth, as the time has come to enhance all the transformations we have been operating in the company, with the aim of increasing market shares in the medical, pneumatic and 3D printing areas.
