Opting for the difficult path of Total Quality Management in a globalized economy, where the rules and demands of the market do not apply to everyone, has enormous associated competitiveness risks, but we believe that as Michael Porter said, “The competitiveness of a country depends on the capacity of its industry to innovate and improve”, that is, companies to be competitive will also have to be innovative, but for there to be innovation in organizations, people must be predisposed, motivated and qualified to do so, also not forgetting that conditions must be created to promote synergies through the intervention of top management, the quality system, research and development department.
For these reasons, Tucab defined a 5-year strategy to achieve a series of certifications that ensure the quality of its products, motivated and qualified employees, respect for the environment and create a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the company. These objectives were achieved in less time than expected, with the company currently certified by ISO 9001 – Quality Management, ISO 14001 – Environmental Management, ISO 45001 – Occupational Health and Safety Management, ISO 13485 – Quality Management of Medical Devices (the only company certified by ISO 13485 in the Iberian Peninsula, in the extrusion area), ISO 14644 – Clean Room (the only certified room in the Iberian Peninsula for extrusion), EN 16436 – Certification of Tubes for Butane and Natural Gas, sold under the TUGÁS brand. These certifications were complemented by training and implementation of Lean Manufacturing. This cycle of certifications closed last week with another certification by NP 4457 - Research, Development and Innovation Management System.
Once this extremely demanding cycle for the company's employees has been overcome, in 2020 Tucab will be even more focused on the product and its quality, on the continuous improvement of its processes, as well as on the research and development of new products, creating synergies at all levels.
We know how much the national and European industry needs a partner in the extrusion area who is capable and available to develop and produce the future and Tucab proudly states that it is up to the task. challenges.
