Concern for the environment is a constant at TUCAB, and we are aware that the future of future generations is directly related to the practices we implement in the present.
TUCAB currently has 14 plastic extrusion processing lines, which process various types of polymers (PVC, PP, PE, ABS, TPU, LDPE, HDPE, PA6, PLA, SEBS, PETG, EVA…). As a result of the production process of our range of products (tubes, profiles and seals) waste is produced at three different times:
- Production start-up waste: non-conforming product produced when we are starting production of a certain product and carrying out the necessary adjustments in accordance with the specifications defined for the product;
- Production waste: non-conforming product produced during production (after adjustment) due to imponderables that have elapsed in production;
- End-of-production waste: non-conforming product produced when production stops.
Waste is properly treated with the aim of being reintroduced into the process,in order to minimize resource losses, reprocessing the crushed material together with the original raw material (in a defined proportion) or just using material derived from waste. For this process, the waste is subjected to a separation process, which allows us to guarantee that there is no contamination of materials with different characteristics, and subsequently to mechanical crushing in our mills, which allows the material to be obtained in a favorable granulometry to be extruded again, which we call ground.
Waste:
•Production Start-up •End of production
Crushing dos Moídos: Submitted to a mechanical process internally to reduce granulometry and reintroduction into the process

Reintroduction
The waste is reintroduced into the production process (which depends on the specifications of the crushed material or final product)
