TUCAB CONTRIBUTES TO ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY IN ITS PRODUCTION OF TUBES, PROFILES AND SEALS
Concern for the environment is a constant at TUCAB, and we are aware that the future of future generations is directly related to the practices we implement in the present.
TUCAB currently has 14 extrusion plastic processing lines, which process various types of polymers (PVC, PP, PE, ABS, TPU, LDPE, HDPE, PA6, PLA, SEBS, PETG, EVA...). The production process for our range of products (pipes, profiles and seals) generates waste at three different times:
The waste is duly treated with the aim of being reintroduced into the process in order to minimise loss of resources, reprocessing the crushed material together with the original raw material (in a defined proportion) or only using material derived from waste. For this process, the waste is submitted to a separation process, which allows us to ensure that there is no contamination of materials with different characteristics, and then to a mechanical grinding in our mills which allows us to obtain material in a favourable granulometry to be extruded again, which we call milled.
Waste:
•Production Start-up •End of production
Grinding of the Crushed:
Subjected to a mechanical process internally to reduce the granulometry and reintroduced into the process
Reintrodução
The waste is reintroduced into the production process (which depends on the specifications of the shredded material or the final product)
The reintroduction of milled materials derived from our waste is a process that requires a rigorous analysis in order to ensure that there are no variations and/or contaminations in the final product, and is always dependent on the specifications of the final product. In this way, TUCAB has some products that are produced with 100% of our waste, allowing the reintroduction of materials in a massive way and thus minimizing the ecological footprint of our production.
It is also important to mention that our incorporation of recovered materials is much higher than that produced internally, making it necessary to purchase recovered materials from our partners in order to meet production needs and provide our customers with a more sustainable product.
Do you want Tubes, profiles and seals that guarantee a more sustainable ecological footprint?
We are aware that the plastics issue is currently a concern for the environment, but it is our responsibility as a plastics transformation factory to minimise the waste produced and its consequent sending to landfill, thus guaranteeing its reintroduction in the final product.
